Radio is going on and off. Any ideas?

Q.I have a honda prelude 2001 and my radio is going on and off. Now it won't turn on and the alarm light is blinking. It still has power because I can still eject the cd and the alarm light is blinking while im driving. Any ideas?

I already checked/done: disconecting battery

More Info required What alarm light? Is this an aftermarket or Honda alarm system?

Addition the radio will not even turn on. All that happens is the alarm light blinks on the radio.

Answer Ok, first let's check these fuses. See the image below. Let me know.

Addition So is the fuse box under the hood or dash?

Answer One fuse is in the underdash fuse box, the other 2 are in the underhood fuse box as circled in the illustration.

Addition Nope still does not work. Is there anyway to reset the radio?

Addition yes just the interior light fuse.

Answer Ok. It sounds like your radio may be bad, but lets try to reset it. Remove the battery cables and touch them together for one minute, the re install them. Let me know if that works.

Addition Am I in any danger by doing this?

Answer No, just disconnect the negative cable first, and don't touch the wrench to anything other than the nut on the cable.
All your doing is erasing the radio's memory by draining the power.
