I already checked/done: battery replacement

More Info required I am very familiar with these cars, I own an 88 lude and an 89 lude both are FI.
Does it crank and not start? Or no crank or start?
Have you had any work performed on the vehicle?

Addition Well it cranks sometimes after 4 or 5 tries if it cranks at all, and this is generally after i have sprayed ether into the air intake a couple of times. I am the 3rd owner so I'm only sure that the previous owner did have the starter replaced, i've had the timing belt, and water pump replaced along with the sparkplugs/and wires. I purchased the car back in july of '07.

Answer Ok, so it sounds like a fuel issue.
These cars are notorious for having problems with the "main relay" it is the relay that runs the fuel pump. I always keep a spare in my glove box due to how common of a problem this is.
You can buy a new one, it is approx $70, or you can try and fix it(dont recommend), there is a writeup on how to fix it at www. Prelude3g. Com (under common fixes, main relay fix.
