My civic is buring too much fuel

Q.My civic is buring too much fuel. It emits dark smoke. I changed the sensing units with no improvement. What can I do?
Answer When was the last tune up is there a check engine light on well let me know ill be glad to help.
Addition Last tune up one month ago. Yes the check engine light is on, the code indicates the car is running rich. Please help the gas prices are killing me
Answer Can you give me the code ill pinpoint the exact problem sounds like the 02 sensor is faulty or lazy causing poor gas mileage.
Addition P0170 i think its running totally rich, i replace both front and back 02 sensors, put stock furl injectors back in and added a fuel regulator. Still running rich like 8 miles per gallon of gas.
Answer Are you sure the code is po170 po 171-172 is fuel lean problem po107 is for map sensor what other modifications do you have on your car cam turbo 18 inch wheels after market exhaust etc. If you give me your email ill send a chart of what the values should be there is no code po170.
Addition they code is P0172 bank 1 system rich it occurred after doing cat back exhaust i did ceramic headers to stock cat to 2 1/4 piping to a muffler.
Answer Well thats what is causint this problem the only way to get back to the original gas mileage is to reinstall factory cat header etc you can replace map sensor egr valve o2s but you will always have this replaceing the evap purge control solenoide valve(could be stuck open) and map sensor might help but not that much it
Addition i cant go back i want to fix this problem with the aftermarket stuff in it. It should work fine. I am going to replace the map sensor friday, anything else i can replace? To fix this i think the injectors are stuck open for some reason.
Answer Well before replacing injectore replace that evap purge controll solenoide valve which is probrably your main problem
