6.6 duramax on 2500-3000 RPM runs really sluggish
Car: Chevrolet, Silverado, 2007, 6.6L - Back to Fix-It
Q.I have a 2007 silverado 2500 classic, 6.6 duramax.
The problem I am having is when you take off from dead stop get it goin about 2500-3000 RPM
it runs sluggish, then all of the sudden it takes off, blowing a large cloud of black smoke.
Its acting like a 2 stroke dirt bike when the power band kicks in.
Fuel filter is new, Air filter is new, Fresh oil change.
NEED HELP!
Thanks Josh.
More Info required does the check engine light come on when this happens?
Addition Yes, the light come on this morning.
But I thought the problem might have been the air filter, so i took the air filter out (it was bad dirty) to see if that was the problem but it wasnt so i went and bought a new one anyways. And figured thats why the light come on.
I took it to autozone to have a Diag. On it but their computer couldnt get power from my truck and he said it was my ECM relay. I replaced the relay and still the same prob.
Answer Okay. This is typically a fuel injection problem on this vehicle. The injectors can cause this.
Also, if the air filter was really dirty it can contaminate the mass air flow sensor. You can remove the sensor and spray it clean with throttle body cleaner.
