2001 v70 t5 sunroof won't close.

Q.2001 v70 t5 sunroof won't close. I don't hear the motor running when I hit the switch. I heven't used the sunroof in months and I don't drive the car very much. I have not changed the fuse because I don't have a fuse diagram. The roof seemed like it did not want to open. I figured it was because of lack of use. After hitting the switch a few times, it opened. No such luck getting it to close.

I already checked/done: switch

Answer Try resetting the UEM by locking and unlocking the drivers door manually 2-3 times and see if the sun roof is working again.
Let me know.

Addition No luck.

Addition That's a good question. The curtesy light comes on when the door is open, but when I hit the switch for the map lights, they do not work.

Answer There is a common relation to the map lights and sun roof.
Again try resetting the computer. If you know the radio code try removing the battery and then locking unlocking the driver door a couple times.
If still nothing, there is a problem with the Upper Electronic Module. Probably needs to be replace. Resetting the system as I described earlier works like a charm most of the time.

Addition All light working again. I replaced the fuse again and vanity lights and map lights started working. Still no sunroof motion. Ok. Now vanity lights off and map lights won't turn off and vanity lights won't come back on. What the..

Answer Yep, that's the upper module itself. It's a dealer item. I think the best bet is calling the dealer for the part. My repair manual isn't showing the part so I can't send you a picture. I bet the parts department at Volvo has one. If thats an option for you.

Addition On a side note, a few months back my service arlarm code was on the info screen every time I started the car. Now it doesn't show up. Could that have anything to do with it?

More Info required I can't say I know a connection. Does the alarm work ok

Addition Just checked it. The lights flash but no siren.

Addition Ok. Here's what I'm going to try to get it shut. I'm going to test power to the switch. If there's no power, I'm going to run a fusable link to the switch to give it power, and then hit the switch to close the sunroof. If it's a power issue, that should close it, right? I know it's not a long term solution, but it might work to get it closed until I can fix it the proper way. Do you think that will work?

Answer Yes, try grounding the window. The connector shows to a 2 pin connector. It should close if my diagnosis is right. If it will not close maybe a motor.

Motor Sun Roof, Replacement
The illustrations in this service information are used for different model years and/or models. Some variation may occur. However, the essential information in the illustrations is always correct.
Preparations

Close the sun roof.
Ignition off.
Remove the key from the ignition switch.
NOTE: After removing the key, wait one minute before starting work.
Remove:
the roof module.
the panel/plastic molding around the headlining/sun roof unit.

the 2 screws for the motor.
Carefully lower the headlining. Position several spacers between the sun roof unit and the headlining to avoid long term kinks.
Remove:
1 screw
the connector
the motor.
HINT: Use a 1/4 ratchet handle with a Torx 25 socket for the last screw.
Installing the sun roof motor
Connect the connector.
Screw the electric motor into place using the 3 M5 screws. Tighten.
Install:
the roof module.
the panel/plastic molding around the headlining/sun roof. Start by pressing one corner into place, continue along a long side and then the shorter sides and the corners. Finish with a long side.
Check that the sun roof is operating correctly.
