2000 Daewoo Lanos - where is the water pump?
Car: Daewoo, Lanos, 2000 - Back to Fix-It
Q.2000 Daewoo Lanos - where is the water pump?
Answer The water pump on this vehicle is internal and is powered by the timing belt.
You will not be able to actually see it without removing the timing belt covers.
This is a pretty intense job, with the time guide calling for almost 3.5hrs to replace.
Addition Does the plastic Thermostat casing break open when the water pump is not working properly. Or is it possible the radiator is plugged and pressure is breaking the thermostat.
Answer If the casing is broken, it is possible you have a clog somewhere. Usually when the water pump goes bad, it just leaks. A faulty water pump will not cause that much pressure to break the casing.
