How do I change a belt in a 2005 Matrix?
Car: Toyota, Matrix, 2005 - Back to Fix-It - Toyota Repair Manuals
Q.How do I change a belt in a 2005 Matrix.
Answer The belt tensioner is hydraulically operated so you have to have a 19mm six point socket on a long breaker bar and you put pressure on the tensioner to move it away from the belt. Slow steady pressure or you will break the tensioner. Have a helper ready to change the belt while you hold the tensioner as you don't release the tension until the new belt is in place.
